with the upcoming releases of several different keyboards for the psp, does anyone think it might be possible to add an input (for example - jack into the usb on the PSP) for a mic so that you could talk with a headset or something?
that makes me wonder, if it's possible what about a phone for the WiFi spots?
another thought (kinda), isn't the usb an "input" device, well, why couldn't somebody use it for a mic port?
well, ur half right about the in/out of the usb, the "out" aspect of the usb is only true to the extent that when you connect a computer or something with a GUI, you can then look at it as "in/out". the problem that PSP's have is that you can't access anything FROM the PSP except for what's in the MS or UMD, that's why i asked what i asked.
So isnt a keyboard input????? and if you can acess the memory stick via usb, you can acesss other things on it... Sony is just not allowing you to,,, jeeze wonder why? look what happens when they just give us the memory stick.. Second, how do you plan on using a mic if usb isnt input, and output?
the keyboard is supposed to "jack" into the mini-usb port on top of the PSP, meaning that the keyboard(s) that are being sold (upper and lower units), they would obviously HAVE to pump the signals i.e. keystrokes into the PSP via the mini-usb, so, as I originally asked, why couldn't it be possible to somehow pump a similar signal (such as your voice) through the same port (mini-usb).
also, let's say in theory that we could "as of this moment" do what I was curious about, well, here's my idea - create a headset that has a mic attached to it, but seperate the headphone jack and mic jack, the mic jack would attach to the mini-usb, while the headphone jack goes to its appropriate port the mic jack would then either have a power source to pump the signal of your voice in or you would use a jack on an external periphrial that has functions of some kind - maybe an iPod or the keyboards for the PSP or some such thing.
