A friend of mine told me that he had found a way to really get rid of noise in anime in avs script. I did not believe him. So one day he showed me this clip and it was clear of noise. I tried to do the same but could not, and he refuses to even help. I want to make an amv with some similar clips but mine are too noisy. I will show a pic of the original from the dvd and then his.
His
Can someone tell me what filters you think he used to get to this? Personally, i don't see how it is possible.

i made the beginning of the amv and tried to smooth it and such, but no luck. Very bad. I need to find out how he did that. If someone knows, please help me out here, cause the quality sucks. BTW, I hate Film Grain/Noise.

There are numerous AVISynth denoisers that you can try; deen, degrainmedian, fft3dfilter, fluxsmoth, hqdn3d, HybridFuPP, MipSmooth, RemoveDirt, VagueDenoiser, etc. Probably best to search the AVISynth forum at doom9 and see what other people use for noisy anime. Really though it wouldn't be too hard to do better than the above. Some seriously strong filtering was used there and it trashed a lot of detail.

hahaha, no detail is lost, unless you count the original NOISE.

It just isn't exactly the same frame. So you can't compare that easily, but I still say that a fair bit of detail has been lost.

It is not the same frame. I took the dirty pic myself from the dvd itself. I checked it thuroughly, apparently more than any of you. There is no detail lost from what I can gather. In fact, I would say it is almost perfect.

More than any of us? How are we supposed to check when the frames are different?
For instance the cleaned image is a lot lighter blue. Now this could simply be because it is a different frame, but for all I know they all look like that.

well, no offense to anyone but i asked about it because i was wandering if anyone else was able to do that too to help me out. I wasn't asking for a bunch of opinions about it. if no one knows then don't respond so this topic can just die.
