No picture using liteon 5001 - help please

I have a Liteon 5001 and up until today it has been working fine.
I last used it 2 weeks ago before i went on holiday.
Today i went to use it and there is no picture. I have made sure everything is connected esp scart leads and all is as it should be.
I put in a shop bought dvd and the sound is working properly yet the screen is black.
It is very strange as it has been undisturbed for two weeks after working fine.
Could you please give me any suggestions on what i could try.
