Well this is a tutorial i found on psp-hacks made by JingKing so i thought it might be usefull here for some of those like me that are newb to the psp hack.

Here are some common problems

Q:I can't get it to work it it goes to the loading picture and returns to the home screen

.....A1: the file has to be in the directory PSP/GAME/NEOCD

.....A2: the file has to be named neocd.zip

.....A3: you have to download the Neo geo cd bios,

..........http://membres.lycos.fr/makau/bios/neobios.zip

.....A4: is it a NEO GEO CD ISO, mostly the problem is that it is a Neo geo CARTRIDGE file

Q2: Where can I get the ISO's

.....A: Find them yourself

Q3: I zipped the .iso file I can't get it to work

.....A: You have to get ISO buster and bust the file, extract its contents and zip them

Okay lets start, download the Neo geo CD emu. use kxploit(1.5.) and name the Folder NEOCD.unlike most other emus for Neo Geo you have to put startup.bin, Loading.bmp, and Neocd.bin in both NEOCD AND NEOCD%.(1.5.) but you only have to put the rom in NEOCD.

Download ISO buster now and install it.

Download a ISO
now read Q3's answer

name the file Neocd.zip and put it in PSP/GAME/NEOCD

There that should do it.......

Now if you want to load more roms download neo geo cd file selector from pspupdates.com

Use kxploit(1.5.) and put the rom files in the folder you made for the file selector without the%

Load it browse you PSP to that folder press circle on the rom

wait for it to copy and there you did it :D

you should add the MP3 folder (another common problem) and explain that the zip file you have for DL is very illegal if you don't own the system.

The file does not have to be named neocd.zip. I have mine labled the game file. example: metalslug.zip.

You don't need to have the full file in an ISO in zip. Unzip then re-zip all the game folders/files after you have extracted the mp3 files and placed them in you MP3 folder. The game loading time will be slower but it saves a hell of a lot of MS space. Some games like Metal Slug 2 you may want to leave as an extracted iso because it's just too slow in zip even with the PSP speed turned up to 333 and frameskip up to 2.

I would suggest you just tell people to PM you if they want that file and delete it from your original post. but thats up to you. I can also provide it if you PM me.

i would not even worry about iso buster. If you're downloading roms/iso that have not yet been extracted (expecially neo geo) then you're downloading from the wrong place. Don't ask me where.

You also don't need the neo geo file selector to run several games. there are plenty of emulators out there for PSP that go off folders and not zip files.

Great job on the guide so far lancerx. Great to see constructive posts in here from someone!
