I inserted a 3 port firewire pci card into my computer and it installed and everything seemed to be fine. I'm using it to charge my ipod and transfer songs back and forth between my itunes and my ipod. The firewire card is charging my ipod fine but it won't acknowledge anything that plugs into it. I just have the Yellow exclamation mark saying "This device cannot start. (Code 10). Any ideas on how to get my firewire card working properly would be greatly appreciated.

I did that and it reloads the drivers and reinstalls the card but it still comes up with the error (Code 10) This device cannot start.

naw it didnt. I bought the card on ebay and it worked with the computer i had at the time. I bought a new computer recently and hooked it up yesterday and it's giving me this error code. I never had this problem on my old comp so I'm not exactly sure whats going on. My old comp was a P4 2.0 ghz with windows xp pro and my comp now is an Amd athlon 64 processer with windows xp pro so there shouldnt be a problem with the change in computers.

a side note, windows is all updated with the most recent updates so that cancels out some possible reasons for the error.

i had some what of the same problem with my ipod, (40gb), after reading some facts im thinking that the 40gb is the worst out there, it breaks easily, i dont think its up to your computer or firewire, i eblieve its in the hard drive of ur ipod, maybe try to save all ur songs in a folder on ur computer, and try to restore ur ipod, and see if that works or not
