Just got a Linksys 2.4 GHZ wireless router. All appears well. Im on the basic sbc dsl and getting close to my max speed web browsing. After all the horror storys I've seen of have BT and a router I was prepared to go though some hell. I ran a Nat test and all is fine. I dled a file and again reached max speeds. I did some firewall test and all seems fine(got a bunch of stealh ports). So I was wondering am I done and what all this fuss about routers and p2p programs.

What a lot of people fail to do is add the ports to their internet connections and forward the ports to their router. If you've done that, you should continue to have good connections.
