Newbie jargon and knowledge is barely making sense but have spendt two weeks reading. Sorry if these questions are stupid ones:(
Used NVE 3 to capture and edit a minidv using a firewire. Made a semi successful dvd last night. Only problem was I think the parts of the movie that I cut ended up playing at the end of the last chapter(to early in the pm to be sure).
Anyways I'm trying to maintain the highest quality of my original minidv tape. Read that TMPGEnc is a better encoder than Nero 6.6 (with updates). I tried to take the saved *.nve file over to TMPGEnc PLUS but message said it was not supported. Should I capture and edit with another program.
I have Nero 6.6, TMPGEnc Plus and TMPGEnc Express (Trial).
I'm looking for suggestions on Tutorials, software, and hints if I'm going in the correct direction. I'm using an athlon 2600+ with 768 memory. Other than trying to do it the correct way it may not matter with my old TV set. The quality of the dvd I made last night was fine.
