To recap, my initial forays into DVD burning was weird. Some movies that I backed up worked in my Toshiba 3109, others did not. This occured despite the media I used.
Anyway, My first three DL burns all play in the Toshiba (Verbatim +R DL via Decrypter ISO read, write), but when I use Shrink to fit it onto a standard DVD+R the disc wont play. I even tried converting the outputed Shrink files to ISO mode in Decrypter and burning in ISO mode - still no luck.
Is there any reason why A - certain movies on DVD+R work but others dont and B - Why are my DL backups working but their SL counterparts dont??
Is there something in the file structure??? A marker that's not being copied?? A mystical incantation?? Allegiance to the Sith???

Hi there,
Based on your signature, you know about good media.
I was just going to ask, what brand of media you used and what speed was used to burn them.
I have a Toshiba DVD player for my son, and man, is it ever picky on what I put in there.
My LG 7732NSC in the living room will play 100% of what I gave him up to now, even a PAL dvd, I was shocked it even saw the disk :)

I was backing up my stuff initially on the TY media and testing them after they burnt. Once I ran into the issue I backed up the movie again but no success. I then switched to the Phillips discs but with no success.
I am just curious as to why this is happening. I plan to buy a new player anyway.
