Nero doesn't start making DVD project

When I make a DVD project (some avi's with menus and chapters), When it finishes transcoding the videos,it gets stuck on "Transcoding Menu 5", and never starts, even after a full night. What's wrong? Thanks for any help.

Thanks, I got it to burn with Ulead DVD software, although some of those helped explain.
