Hi friends.. I have a question....

WHy is it that everytime i try to burn a DVD, regardless of what program im using, my burner always "hangs" could burning performance be effected by a screen saver, or monitor power saver features on my computer ???

I have very little disk drive space left on my hard drives less then 2 gb, and i am running a 512mb pentium 4 with windows 2000 ???

please help, im tired of wasting blank dvd's

Hi there,

Did you install that burner yourself ?

Are you sure it's properly configured for MASTER / SLAVE or are you using Cable Select ?

What type of media are you using ?

VSO Inspector v1.1 --> http://www.vso-software.fr/
can provide you the Media ID of those blanks.

What speed are you burning them at ?

If you use VSO CopyToDVD or Nero, provide us with a log, maybe we can see what's going a little but more.

I have my screen saver that kicks in, and have my monitor turn off after 15 minutes, and I don't have lockup issues.

I am using Windows XP SP2.

Have 2gb of space maybe a problem, as it might need temp space to cache file. Isn't there anything you can delete ?
Is your recycle bin empty ?

Try to burn one at 2x, it will give time to the computer to feed the burner.

I always burn at 2x when troubleshooting burn issues !
