I have just upgraded nero burning rom and vision express from the nero website and now when I try to burn a file, it's telling me that the time remaining is 5 hours plus for the 3 files when before the update Nero took about 50 mins to 1 hour for one file which I could cope with. I don't mind waiting 3 hours for 3 files including burning but 5 hours plus is a bit much. I always use the 2 pass and burn at once without prevoius problems. Do I just need to go back to my previous version and forget about updating Nero or is there a fix for this?
Anyone????????

I am transcoding and burning AVI. files downloaded with bittorrent.
Even when I do not use the burn at once option It says that for the 3 files I want to burn it will take 5 and a half hours to complete when before the update those same 3 files take 2 hours and 20 minutes.
I have had this problem with the last 2 nve updates and have gone back to the nve 3.1.0.11 where I have no problems. Some people say if it ain't broke don't change it but I have always wanted to have the latest
update. If there is no solution to this problem I will just stay with the older version even though it goes against my grain.
Anyway any help will be appreciated.

Why not just say that u want to make AVI to dvd...
And it always take time (long time...)

1. DO not use Nero
2. Use one of these:

Ok thanks, I might try the winavi but I would really like to stay with Nero which I am more familiar with. I thought Nero does the .AVI to dvd conversion automically but I must admit I have never had VOB files unless I put it to the hard drive. If possible I would like a solution that would help me to continue to work with Nero, which has been good to me these last few years, however I thank you very much for your input and time you put in to help me.
It is appreciated.

Ok I've checked out the guide and I can't see where I'm going wrong.
I did a complete reinstall and clean tool thingy but transcoding is still very slow. In the previous version the 1-pass thing went for e.g.2 hours on three files and the 2-pass encoding went for about 2.5 hours.
After the update the 1-pass for the same three files takes about 3 hours and the 2-pass takes about 5.5 hours. Something screwy is going on.
Please can someone help me get Nero working properly again, unless there is another program that works in the same way please tell me but I really prefer Nero having used it for quite awhile now with not many issues. Phew!!!!!!!!!

I think that Nrautava is right try another program never stick to one burning program.

Winavi is a very useful conversion program and very easy to used and it can burn also it used Nero express as it burning enginge so you would have to have Nero express install also ok

Thank you for your input. I have reluctantly got the winavi program but have yet to use it.
I don't want to sound like a Nero salesperson but Nero is all I have ever needed for all my burning needs and I would like to stick with it.
I'm Australian which is probably why I'm so stubborn.
Changing programs is a LAST resort. At the moment I reinstalled the earlier Nero Reloaded and it works fine.
The latest Nero Burning Rom also works fine. My only problem is with
Nero Vision Express.

I too have a similar problem. I don't know if its the same problem but sounds similar. While trying to burn AVI files (I assume they are AVI and not divx)the file only goes so far and freezes. I hit abort and actually have to go into Task mgr to close Vision.

Some movies burn fine but many hang up then I have a coaster. And they seem to hang up in the same place. I'm using NV 3 with all patches and updates I could find.

I too have the same problem. Freezes when trying to transcode AVI files. Also happening after upgrading a few weeks ago. I thought I had it licked by transcoding only a couple or even one file to my hard drive, then authoring it with Nero VisionExpress, but now I'm trying a single file and it freezes after a few minutes. There must be another way! Also, I'm trying to transcode BIN files and some will work just fine and others won't. Any suggestions!
