I am having problems burning DVDs.
I am using a optorite dd1603 writer.
I am trying to burn a dvd+r which I can play in a standalone player.
When I use Nero the disc burns, but then when it verifies the files it says 3 are good 5 are bad, hence when I try to play it nothing happens.
I am using phillips media, I have tried burning 2.4, 4 and 8x speeds. One disc played for about 5 seconds then froze.
Any ideas?

whenever you get freezing, skipping, and pixilations for a burned DVD ........ YOU HAVE BAD MEDIA! Philips DVD+Rs are made by CMC Magnetics, which is one of the worst manufactures of DVD disks you can get!!!!!! Look over and read this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm Buy some Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell or the very popular and very good Verbatim disks! You'll be surprised that when you burn with better disks you will get a better quaility backup that should play in your stand alones without the freezing, skipping, or pixilation problems that bad media causes! If you do this your problems should be in the past!

you can guy your disks online at Meritline.com, Supermediastore.com or you can go to the stores like Office Max, Office Depot, Circut City, CompUSA, Best Buy and find the best disks that are MADE IN JAPAN and some Verbatims that are made in Taiwan. Read the link above and you should have no problems anymore.
