Hi to all,
I have just purchased my first DVD recorder. This is a stand alone DVD/VCR player/recorder. It is great for dubbing!
I purchased an Insignia model IS-DVD100121 (which is a Best Buy labeled LG Model RC68227 I think) and it has the standard 1,2,4, and 6 hour recording modes. When I record movies (through DishNetwork), many of them are slightly over 2 hours and I hate to jump to the 4 hour recording quality. Through my initial research I have seen where some recorder have hacks available to give them a 3 hour recording mode.
Does anyone know of a way to hack this for my machine OR guide me towards the best recorder that has a 2 1/2, 3 or variable recording mode available?
I would prefer to stay with a combo DVD/VCR for easy hook-up and dubbing if possible. This model cost $197 but I would gladly pay more for high quality recordings. I have already transferred most of my home movies to DVD and am now hooked on DVD recording!
I am also going to purchase a DVD recorder for my computer now. However, recording from television and VHS tapes will be my priority.
Thanks or all comments,
Rob

I am not fimilar with the models given. If your priority is to dub VHS tape to DVD you will most likely run into Macrovision. If so you should seriously consider a LiteOn with the latest hacked firmware.

No it's not true, there is no hack available for the LVC-9006 except the region free.

Yes, and none of them worked. LVC-9006 doesn't need 3 hours hack it's built in 3 hours, you are certainly confused between LVC and LVW

No confusion involved, just trying to help a nQQb .. did you look at the LiteOn forum? My LVW models are already macrovision proof without hacks .. AND you should be careful if you hack your machine anyways .. you may void your warranty and the drives are known to fail
