Playback problems w/ Sony DRX-800UL

I have a Sony DRX-800UL and have been experiencing playback problems on my home DVD player (Malata N996).

I know for a fact that there are no problems with the VOB files -- I can watch them fine on my laptop. It's just that whenever I burn a disc, I get a few playback errors and the film jumps forward a few seconds. Really irritating. I've tried burning at a slower speed, but no luck. I've been using TDK DVD+R rated up to 8X.

I get no error messages when burning.

Any ideas?
