TFT touch screen from a fujitsu laptop to a sony vaio

I've managed to blag an old sony vaio laptop. The plan is to set it up in my car with a little touch screen as the one on it has been cracked. I've seen a couple of screen from a little fujitsu laptop and i'm just wondering wether I can somehow wire the screen to the laptop either through the orginal screen cable or the VGA port.
Any ideas?, is it just a case of finding the pin layout for the laptop cable and the screen and joining the right pins up? will software be a big issue also when getting the touchy bit on the screen to work with the laptop.

any help much appreciated.
