Hi guys. Need a little help please. I am making a home movie dvd of my daughter. I need to rip some drumbeat audio from the movie Drumline, so that I can add it to my movie. I have the dvd of Drumline.
I am using ulead vs 9, for the compilation. I dont know how to rip the audio by itself. That is without the movie portion.
Also need to rip it in a wave file.
I already have shrint and dvd encripter, also nero 6.6.
Thanks.

If your trying to get the sound without the Video being pressent, you will need to de some demuxing! You already have some of the necessary software (DVD Decrypter) so check out this thread and see where it gets ya:

Post any questions or concerns here in the thread you created (please).

Thanks for the help. I have extracted the part of the audio I needed. Problem is I have Nero showtime, installed, and the file is being captured by Nero. So that I cant seem to open it with anything else. Nero reads it as not a dvd file. I guess I now need help in my settings.
Please help.

So you Demuxed the audio file from the DVD to attain the AC3 Dolby Digital file (Not a .VOB file). Did you turn the .AC3 file into a WAVE or Mp3? I have never used Nero Showtime but any video editing software should let you import a WAVE file.

When I open dvd decripter I get possible protection found. I am not sure if I need to rip it first using shrink. and then follow with your step.
Thank you for your help. I would really like to get this solved, so that I can do it anytime I want.

This method doesn't involve DVD Shrink at all. DVD Decrypter is able to defeat most copy protections all by its-self (some of the new protection schemes may give it trouble, Drumline doesn't use a new one). Just make sure your following the steps exactly and that you come out with an AC3 file at the end, not a .VOB file.

I think your having a problem with step SIX. Make sure that you are highlighting the Audio stream. Don't just check the box!

This is happening because when you Demux something you extract it out of a whole. The VOB is the whole. If you don't choose to Demux the audio file and only (stream) proccess the audio then you come away with a VOB file that is part garbage (where the video should be) and part Dolby Digital Audio. LOL.
