Dual Layer DVD burner

Hello, I thought that when I bought my computer form Dell that it was coming with a dual layer dvd burner. Whats everyones opinion is this a big deal not having one. I really dont know what I would use it for other than it was an option I would have liked to have. any thoughts are appreciated.

Are you saying you did not get a burner, or the burner you got is not a dual layer? If you only want to back up to single layer disks then I suppose it is fine, but if you plan on using dual layer disks then you will miss it.

i got a burner, but its not dual layer. I didnt know if its a real big deal. I only back up my PS2 games and my DVDs didnt know if there was much use for a dual layer burner. Are they real expensive now adays??

No you can get one for about 60.00 for and internal and about 90.00 for an external at newegg. You can get by with what you have, but you may want to thing about one in the future if you do plan on doing any dual layer backups. You can always think about an external and that way you can keep both drives.
