You'll need two programs. DVD Shrink, and PSP Video 9. I'm sure you can use other programs that create movie files to your hard drive, but I have used DVD Shrink and have found it super easy to do. open Shrink. Click on edit and choose preferences, click the tab that says output files, and normally the little box that says split VOB files into 1GB chuncks(recommended) will be checked, uncheck it. You want the movie to be all together.*Remember you will get just the movie with no extras and no menus. ( reauthor, and use only the movie file, no menus no extras) and shrink the movie as much as you can. Once reauthored use the little tab that lets you set the compression rate, and bring it to as low as you can,(in order to make it smaller MB). it usually takes about two to three times (backups of the same movie file, with each one making the movie file smaller, and smaller). You can get it all the way down to about 1.5 GB,(I have found this is the best setting that works for me) And once you have the image of the dvd in your hard drive use PSP Video 9. This little proggie is AWESOME!!! Open PSP VIDEO 9 and you can go to the setup option and mess with the setting(everything in here is pretty much self explanatory) You can even put the length of the movie and it will show you how much space you will need. Then when you have your settings just click on convert, and convert new movie. A window opens up where you can search for movie files to be converted. The conversion process, after backing up the movie and shrinking it, takes about two hours, depending on the PSP 9 setting you choose, and how big the file is. I don't have a PSP but my phone (Samsung P735) plays MPEG4/MP4 format and I used it and it works!! I think this program lets you watch anything that has been converted on anything that plays MPEG4/MP4. I can fit a Full Length movie into my 512MB rsmmc. The largest I've done so far is 2 hours 42 minutes 45 seconds.(Troy). Works like a charm. So happy I did my research before I bought this phone. I was searching about to see if anyone has found and used this (PSP VIDEO 9) program, but it doesn't look like it. Hope some of you can use it! SALUD! ** Don't forget to change the settings back on shrink (split VOB files into 1GB chunck(recommended).
