The Neo Geo and 3DO caught me off guard. I had no recollection of $700 game consoles...I was a Nintendo and Genesis lover as a kid.

I remember shelling out $70 for Goldeneye on N64. Nintendo did pretty decent with the 64 raping people on prices, maybe the new systems will do the same.

Of course they will. They will always put it on us!! History has proven that easily. That's kinda why I did this post for reference and to show a lot of people that are complaining about today's prices with consoles. It kinda doesn't make it seem that bad when we pay $399 for an xbox with the works when NEO GEO for GOD's sake cost $700 back in the day.

The cart based NEO GEO that was $700 still sells for over $100 on Ebay. 3DO can be bought on ebay $50 or less. I started game collecting a couple of years ago. My Atari 5200 still has a $199.99 price sticker on the box.
some of my system lined up

Thanks guys, I appreciate it! Gaming has been a passion of mine for 25 years. It's only been somewhat recently that I've been able to afford to spend more on it and start collecting. And back to the main topic the 360 is no were near the most expensive system at lauch when you take inflation into it. It's more like in the middle.
One more pic, because I thought the the games for the 2 newest system on the market looked cool on the same shelf as some Atari games.

Nah, I don't have that much money by any means, I'm married and make almost double what my wife makes so we do ok. Plus I don't have a car payment since both are cars are paid for.
Also I don't own a Gamecube. It seemed just like a bunch rehashed N64 stuff to me and I aready owned an N64. I'll probably grab one this year just to have it this year since it's so cheap now and modable. The only other systems on the list I never owned are 3D0, Neo Geo and Saturn.

thanks serranoX3, in Atlanta btw.
and rihgt682 on the PSP props. I have 2 PSPs. One for homebrew and ISO and the other for new PSP games. My PS2 and Xbox collection are the games in the rack on the side of the TV. I know it's kind of small, but do to me modding both them a while ago and not caring about collecting games until a couple of year ago there you go. Still, I'll probably take more collection pics tomorrow and get them up. Gamecube is probably the console this gen I most want to collect for. I have 9 consoles altogether 4 or 5 handhelds.

do any of you think the psp is unComfortable to play after an hour or 2. and guys the psp was so expencive when it came out, but the new version of the psp with all the add ons is only going to be £100 or around $200. the psp must cost sony like £70 and they sell it for £175. the new version of the psp will have all the original stuff and more for £100. so this must proove that the psp costs nothink to make compared to what they sell it at.
