Novice here...Got a Gateway PC want to hook up VCR to burn to DVD's. I was recommended the Avermedia Tech DVD EZ Maker USB 2.0 or the
Belkin Hi Speed USB 2.0 DVD Creator. Anyone know if these would work for me? My PC has Windows movie maker.

how old is your computer and what is the model? You computer may not have a USB 2.0 in it in which case it would be cheaper to get an internal capture card.

First thing you did wrong is to by a GATEWAY!!!
Why?
It´s PROPRIETARY...and that means that you can only do certain upgrades with that brand of computer.

i'd recommend a pci capture device over something hooked up to your usb ports...you'll get better results.

You'll probably like the USB device alot better if you dont want to open up your computer and install things yourself.
