- wow that must be real old firmware.
i just bought this computer ..brand new in january..lol
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? i don't know what this means either..i'm a baby to all of this
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- is the burner external or in a usb enclosure ? my burner is internal i guess. it's built right into the tower above the cd rom

and yes..this is my biggest concern.. i bought the DVD+R dvd's..was that wrong? and Nero says it should work with either dvd-r/rw or dvd+r/rw.. did i waste my money?

you still need BS0S from the link i provided earlier. basically your date could be dated around november 2004..
just double-checked here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/214420, especially the first 2 steps from the reply dated "19. August 2005 @ 17:13".
to fix the question mark in this line - Quote: Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ?
- fix, via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm
as to the discs, read the other link i supplied in this very reply as it has info on what some of this means and how to upgrade firmware/precautions when updating firmware.
(firmware is what teached your burner about media/newer media/burn speeds, so it has to be kept up to date)
