I am thinking about buying this model, but I wanted to know if anyone could give me some feed back as to wether this is a good choice in TV or if there are any ther TV's out there (around the 55-60 inch range) that compare or are even better. I am lookin to watch alot of sports, play PS2 and play movies. One of the feat. I liked about this model is that it turns regular TV signals into almost HD quality signals. I am looking between LCD and DLP, but i have been told that LCD is better, is this true? Any help would be good, Thanks.

LCD and DLP? The battle rages everywhere on this topic (http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/article.asp?section_id=2&article...) . Some people think LCD is brighter than DLP, especially the sony's (I'm one of those people). Others think DLP is sharper (I'm also one of those people). I favored DLP because I feel its colors while not super bright where more natural than LCD. But now I love LCos. LCos is a blend of LCD and DLP that takes all there positives, LCDs brightness and DLPs sharpness, while retaning non of there negatives ( the Screen-Door affect and the Rainbow affect). I believe that the LCos tech will soon give LCD and DLP manufacturers a run for there money and become the HDTV technology of the future.

With that said. I think that the JVC HD-52G786 "HD-ila" tv is the best projo one on the market. JVC took LCos and impoved it dubbing their new technology D-ila (3rd Gen) and HD-ila (4th Gen) which are just 3-chip versions of the original 1-chip LCos design.
