The problem I am having is when I convert video files from a PAL format to NTSC format with vob blanker it converts the files fine and I am able to burn a dvd with no problems but when I play the dvd on my home player the video skips like the horizontal hold on the tv is not set right. The dvd plays fine in any of my computers. Any ideas what maybe the problem?

Hi Cyber9760. I have a Philips DVD player and it can play PAL or NTSC format. I got the same thing you are talking about. The picture rolled so badly I couldn't even get into the menus to change things. What it turned out was there's a setting on my player to tell it what kind of TV it's hooked up to. I had it on "Auto" so since it was playing a PAL video disc it assumed the TV must be PAL. I changed that setting to NTSC and from then on it would play PAL videos ok. See if you can find something similar in your settings.

Thanks MilesAhed I have the very same dvd player and I found the setting you are talking about and I changed to NTSC instead of automatic and problem solved. Thanks for the info.
