I would just like to start by saying that I am using "starter" software and I am very new to creating video and burning them to DVD. I don't really know what I am talking about on this topic but I will do my best to decribe my situation.

I have been capturing in-game footage of my favorit PC games like Battlefield 2 and MS Flight Sim 2004. I am using a program called Fraps do do this. I am using Windows Movie Maker to edit and put them to music. From there, I am using the DVD buring software that came with my burners to burn the video to DVD. It is NeroVision Express 2.

Everything goes smooth until it is burned to the DVD. When you view the DVD, the video is streched out, grainy and very unwatchable.

I know this is because I have to capture the game footage using the "half screen" option in the Fraps software. I am running the game at 1024x780 so I guess that means the video is 512x390. Once I import the video to WMM for editing and then save it, I have to save it at the option that is the closest without going over the origianl size which is 320x240. I do this because I know if I save it at a larger size it will cause the video to be streched and look terrible.

Once the video is saved as a 320x240 .wmv file I can play it on my computer and it looks great. Small but great. When I use Nero to burn the video to DVD the only size options I am given are 720x480, 704x480, and 352x480. I have tried using all three sizes and they all produce poor results. The video is streched out to the corners of the TV screen and looks bad.

I would like to know if there is a way that I can get my video to burn on the DVD at the 320x240 size and just have a black boder between the video and the outside edge of the TV screen.

I know that I am using very basic software at this point and that may be the limiting factor. If this is the case, what are some good low cost options for me to achive the results I am looking for?

Any insight would be very helpful and much appreciated.
