First off, thanks to Creaky for all the help, you definitly know your stuff, thanks to others as well. If anyone looking at threads started here by me are having any of those problems, I think I've got it nailed down.
The small jitters: I've burned 10+ DVD's, no luck, still jittery. However! heres what I was doing (wrong perhaps). I used WinAVI to convert 20 equal avi's to VOB's, put them in a folder on my desktop, so that was my 'source'. Then used Express to build the menus and add video from that very folder. Failure after failure..... I thought "what if those didn't get transcoded correctly, although they play perfect in WinDVD?". So, I started over.
I've now used Express to build the menus, but this time used Express to convert the avi's to VOB's. Then on the last menu, selected 'burn to folder (or whatever thats called :D ) instead of burning it to DVD, essentially letting Express do the converting and menu building. So now on the desktop folder, I have VOB's and menus that Express built - ready to be mounted. Used WinAVI to mount the VOB's that Express created and viola - IT WORKED! No stutters!
So the two things different:
1) Used Express to convert the avi's to vob's and menu building (instead of WinAVI converting).
2) Used WinAVI to mount the vob's instead of NeroExpress.
Now. Since its perfect now, gonna do the next step. Let Express build the menus's and convert the avi's to VOB's but now gonna try and let Express mount it, rather then WinAVI.
Bottom line = all this time those original VOB's by WinAVI could have been the damn problem all along! lol
Creaky and others helped me get all those old drivers out (always remember to reboot after these changes/deletions) so we're close to burning Nirvana.
Now if I can get Express to build the menus, convert the avi's and mount the them to DVD with no stutters - we could be there!!!
Thanks to everyone, I'll report back.
