Ok First off let me say that I'm finally able to hold this thing in my Hand! =) <3 <3 <3 JOY!!!
Well not quite I one of the first things I did was to run though the Fine Manuel (i.e. RTFM), And I saw a nicely bright Yello sheet of Paper... =( No joy the Freaking PSP is Volume Caped just like my iPods' (well before I uncaped 'em that is!),. Unlike the iPod wich is supposedly Caped at 100dB the PSP has been Caped at 90dB. And you can hear it too... Well that's the problem really YOU CAN'T FREAKING HEAR IT! God forbid you might actually want to use it outdoors or something! This is deffently not the way to Kill the iPod People!!
Sadly this is not Sonys' fault it's the damn French that are to blame for this wonderfull Nanystate they given us! 'The EU Volume Cap!' Just One more reasion to hate the French!!!!
Now it would appear that Sony have not made any headways on there LCD either I have at least One Dead Pixle on the Right Third of the Screen which P*SSES ME OFF TO NO END! I'm consedering asking for a replacement Part! ?250.00(EUR), is to much for something that does not work!
I have just fuxx0rd around with RidgRacer and I can see why this was the Real Launc Title! Damnd Sweet Beatch Yeah!!!
So the PSP is Kickarse! save for the Audio and Dead Pixle.
Now my only hope is that someone can rework the Firmware so that the PSP can play sounds at an acceptable levels!
I agree about the volume- I got mine today and it's crazy how quiet it is, I keep going to try and turn it up, but alas it's on max volume...! I think I might try some headphones with another control on so I can at least turn up the volume when I'm listening to music. I dunno if that works actually... *runs to go and get other headphones*
thats why i imported my psp from japan 2 months ago... it has a lot better screen and the volume goes higher too.. and the best thing is its region free so i can play all the games and movies released here too YAY!!
1), I'm not so sure it's the PSP that's Caped. Did you notice the 90Db Tag on your Headphones? having (just for Sh*ts and Giggles I pluged it into my KNOWN Uncaped iPod! And I could barley hear it it almost frightend me! So fist off Chuck 'em and by a Pair of cheap ?1,99(EUR) Buds or do what I do and use the Apple In-Ears, THEY ARE EXCLENT!! But cost about ?39.00(EUR). =(
2) Make sure to not Activate the AVLS in your Audio Settings as this agitates the Maximum Volume to an even greater extent!
How about you notice any Dead Pixles yet? I think I notice Two of them now! I think I'm going to have to send it back! For One that works!
They come out like Stars on a Black Screen (well the ones that are only just a Pixle wide. I've now spoted at least Three separate areas on the Screen with such Dead Pixles. I't going to break my Heart, But I'm going to have to call the Catalog Company from which I orderd it Tomarrow and see what they can do. Under German Law I do have a 14-Day Return Policy...
