After downloading albums i have realised they are one continuous track. so you cant select which tracks to play you just have to play the lot!! Is there any way to seperate these downloaded albums??

mp3 splitter and joiner or mp3 surgeon are two good options. If helps if your album comes with the .cue file, which contains the specific time index for the tracks to properly separate the album. But you can always look up the times on freedB or something

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
