Hi everyone,
I was just wondering If anybody could give me information on Winpsportal. I heard Winpsportal is some kind of operating system for the sony psp. Apparently, its similar to Microsoft's Windows Xp.
So If anyone knows lots about it, It would be nice to hear some Info about this new operating system.

And I was thinking of downloading this new mod. But before I do I would like to know more about it.

From the Website it state that they started working on this after Firmware 2.0 got released. Personly I hate there choise in UI, And M$ Teletubby (XP), Hill Picture! But I wonder if this Crap works on a PSP v2.0???
BTW: I'd say this was more like a 'nux Package then a Windows One. Even it they made sure to ripoff the MS GUI Styles.

I guess every1 is entitled to their own opinion. Even if it means complaining about something so f****** sweet. I must say that Winpsportal is a must have for anyone who enjoys their psp!
I got my copy of Winpsportal. How about you?

Again does this even work on anything above Firmware v1.5???
IF SO HOW!!!!
BTW: can you use this to eventually lauch other Apps? (i.e. Emu's),??

As of now, you can only use Winpsportal on version 2.0. It uses the new web broswer to work. If you allready have 2.0, then I'd try it. If you have version 1.5 or below, then I'd wait on it. Eventually 2.0 will be cracked and we will begin to see some better apps running on 2.0 that also uses the web broswer. There is a program that is being developed for 1.5 that has the same effect as winpsportal just without the web links. I'm having trouble finding it at the moment, but if I find it I'll let you know.

I'm sure that if you don't like it you can delete it. I'm sure you will like it if you try it. It has a few games and other 'apps' that looks nice. If you have version 2.0 I would grab it up.

I get it now, and yes you will need Firmware v2.0 for this!
It looks like this is all done with the Browser that Sony put out with the 2.0 revision. So Having not upflashed my PSP yet, and having no plans to do so untill I have no choise! This thing is of no use to me and it's not like your going to be able to use Emulators with this either...

Yea, it looks pretty sweet. I would really like to try it out, but without a way to go back to 1.5, I don't want to try it that bad.

Like I said though, Winpsportal is a must have for anyone running version 2.00 as their firmware on their psp.
I' ve got it and I love it! =:)
My favorite thing about Winpsportal is the links they give you!
Now you can go on Hotmail or Gmail with 1 click!!!!

WinPSPortal is a HTML Web Browser that runs Java Apps. IT's not a Hack and you can not run Games on it! You can not even use it if you have not upflashed your PSP to Firmware Rev. 2.0. Because you'll need the Browser in Rev. 2.0 to even use this POS!!
In short a 'Cuppie Doll Prize' for those who'd upflashed there PSP's!
In summerie only upflash if you don't have a choise in the matter (i.e. UMD Movie and or Game demands you to do so!),. Otherwise hold off for a Month or Two...

Ok i will try my best to explain everything, Winpsportal is created to look like windows xp, it has Text Editor,Link Manager,Games collection, wishlist, playing, and favorites list,Calendar,Calculator,Stopwatch,Text Reader,Games,Instant messenger links,Search engine links,Email links, Music and Videos links and best of all its free, it requires version 2.0 or will not work, to install this program simply go to winpsportal.com and click download, once you download unzip the file to your unzipped file that is in c: , open the file named WinPortal300BT and in that folder is another folder named
WinPortal300BT, also open that one , then you will see a folder named win and a text document named read_before_unzipping, not needed if you listen to me, just copy or cut the win folder onto your psp, when you open up the folder for your psp it reads mp_root, and psp, take the win file and drag it their, so it should read mp_root, psp, and win, when it gets complety transfed , open the web browser and type
file:/win/index.html, add it to your favorites so you dont have to do it every time, well thats about ok bye

Now that's where your WRONG Ichijoe. Many people out there who upgraded their psp's to version 2.00 think that Winpsportal is one of the best mods for 2.00. And I fully agree with them. Winpsportal will continue to improve as time goes by. And like I've been saying before, I believe Winpsportal is a must have for any psp owner who upgraded their psp's to firmware 2.00!
Featuring tons of games and plenty of great applications, you're sure to find the WinPSPortal a great addition to your PSP.

I'm sorry I know I can't run Emus and such with Firmware 1.52 as it is and makeing the jump to 2.0 isn't going to be that big a deal for the time beeing. But, If presented with a "Carrot" under my Nose (e.g. Das Wonder Hack),. Or your PSPortal. I'll continue trying to get the "Carrot"...
