Hi

I use to use Vision Express 2 and had no problems making 16:9 size WMV files into DVDs they always stayed at the same ratio.

But i just upgraded to version 3 and now they are stretching across the screen to 4:3 size.

Anyone know of this problem and can help me please?

Hi, I had the same problem with videos that were in 720 x 480 16:9 This is classified as the NTSC setting under Windows Movie Maker. I always use the Video for Local Playback (2.1Mbps) It has a pixal resolution of 856 x 480. Then when imported it is 16:9. Nero doesn't seem to read the 16:9 maker in the NTSC video. If you are using PAL then it is the same thing, just replace the word NTSC in my description with PAL. The Sizes then would be 720 x 576 and the other is the same but with the PAL frame rate. You can transcode your video using Windows Media Encoder and select the proper settings to output in a 16:9 resolution.

Thats great! Thanks very much

There is another matter to do with screen ratios. This happened in the old version aswell.
When the dvd is played on a tv screen it seems to always go to 4:3 size, can this be fixed too?

What kind of TV do you have? 4:3 or 16:9. If you have a 4:3 TV it should out but with black bars, your DVD player then should be set to 4:3 Letterbox or 4:3 Normal. If you have ur DVD player set to 16:9 and you have a 4:3 TV then the video that is encoded is animorphic, it will strech it to fill the screen so when it is on a 16:9 TV the full screen image can be streched out so the proportions are the same. The same goes for a 16:9 TV, the DVD player should be set to 16:9.
