now I know all the psp are region codeded and so are the umd films so you can only watch the films from your region codeded area. I also know that the games are codeded but work on all systems.
Now, what i'd like to know is the WiFi.
I have a japenese psp(couldn't wait)and my mate has just got a european psp and we can't seem to hook the two up, whether via game or just sending a picture. Are we doing something wrong or is it not possible to connect two different region codeded psp's

please help

I wouldn't be so quick on Games. Granted it seems like those with PSP1.5's can play any Games and or Imports as they wish. But, as far as I understand it $ony has put a stop to it since PSP2.0. So untill someone can tell me that they can play Region 1 Games on a Region 2 PSP with 2.0, I'll continue to doubt this.

As for 802.11x?? That is an International Standerd for Wireless Interconnectivity. If $ony did something to prevent this, by Region Locking it. $ony would be in DEEP SH*T for Fruad and Misproduct Information by clameing an 802.11x compatabibilty where none exists.

So no you can use 802.11x anywhere you like.

As for the Movies & Games? I would assume that they will come in due corse. The main objective right now is to get Homebrew (i.e. Softmods), working on PSP2.0. As you should allready know by now, Homebrew does not curently function with PSP1.51 and above...

well I have updated my japenese psp with an english game to 2.0 and it did stop my home brew game.
However, even with the 2.0 update I could play both my american and european games on my japenese psp so I can assure you that the region code on the games is not applicable, everywhere I have asked also say that this is true and the games should work on any psp regardless of different region coding.
I will try again with some games to get wireless connection
Thanks for you help

Ok that's wonderfull then! I guess there's just a lot of misinformation going on right now. Given that a Japanese PSP is Region 2 (Movies) Region ?? (Games), and a US PSP should be both 1 for Games and Movies. This st leasts reads better then then the I can play Japenese Movies on my Euro PSP (both beeing region 2 for Movies that is),...

Is that true???
I know european dvd's are region 2, as are japenese, but is that the same for the psp umd movies???
I hope to test this soon, as soon as someone I know's buy's a umd movie for their european psp.
Another question.
Given that there is software to convert films so you can put them onto your psp (if your memory card is big enough), and the fact that you can download films (if illegally) for free, how many ppl will actually buy umd movies for their psp's. Please hit back on that one.
The only umd movie I could see myself buying would be the new final fantasy VII advent children film, and that's only because it's released on umd before dvd.

Hit Back
