Why is azureues slow with a router

If I plug the cable modem directly to my computer azureues becomes fast. However sometimes i have to connect the cable modem to a router so i can share the internet with my roomates.
When I'm connected through a router, azureus becomes slow and it says you have a NAT problem. How can I solve this

Could be a number of reasons, But as DVDBack said you'll need forward your ports. I have a guide that covers nearly all areas of BT and I have got very good Feedback from it
