Hi

Ive typed in my default gateway address in my address bar to go and configure my router. Then a box pops up asking me for my username and password. Now im confused because i cannot remember creating any username or password for this. Ive tryed lots of different ways to try and get past it by entering different passwords which i might have used and ive even used admin as it told me to on a site that i visited when i was trying to solve this problem. Is there anywere were i can find my username and password for this or is there anyway of getting around this problem.

Try 'admin' and 'password'

If you still can't do it ring up router manufacturer and ask for the password and username

Nope

it says on the buffalo website (the manufacturer that my router is) the default username is :ROOT and to keep the password box blank. ive tried it and it still doesnt work. its really annoying because ive got a 3mb internet connection and im downloading at 7kb/s. please please please help me.

This is what portforwaed tells you to do

Enter the ip address of your router . By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.11.1.




You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is root, and the password is blank. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.

ive followed that earlier and it doesnt work it says its wrong im really confused just need help with this

Fill that in and press 'submit' they'll get back to you.

I would reccomend both email and phone because you might get two different approaches to your problem
