I have a question as to whether private torrents are "safer" than public. The reason that I ask is that I have found a private torrent website and I wanted someone to see what they think, or to recommend others that are reliable and **AA free. Tell me what you think.
There is no way to ever guage who is on which network. so if the **AA clocks onto it, it's just as easy for them to get in as it is with any other person, seeing as you found it on a website. plus people will probably feel 'safer' and share more torrents which means easier catches. but thats just my thought
The association can see your IP, regardless if you are using a public or private tracker. The only differnece would be if the association could pressure the private trackers into giving the info they have on registered members in exchange for less fines, etc.

when you look at it like that, its probably worse!! i prefer safety in numbers myself.
It all depends on what info the private trackers store , the RIAA can have my ip all they want, what they need is hard evidence. to me logs are a waste of time, hence anyone can write a log , unless they can d/l data straight from you they have no case.
