Am considering an IPOD but just wondering, how do you download music onto it? Does it come with the software and if so, do you connect to the internet through the IPOD, or do you have to hook it up to your PC? THanks

it connects through a usb connection and all u really need the net connection for is for it to fill in the song info...

My sis has one and she just uses the usb connection to put and remove song she wants or doesnt...

I hope that clears it up...

Also u do get software for the device but take note that once u have installed it one pc u can not copy the same software on another computer...

I recently bought a mini-iPod and used if for the first time on a trip last week to Seattle. It's a great little "toy", but those suckers are touchy when selecting artist, album, etc. Also, I personally hate those little ear buds -- royal pain in the ass! I have a set of Bose noise-cancelling earphones and they are great.
I loaded a ton of cd's on it using the iTunes software. I was not paying close attention and did save them as mpg3, so I used more of the hd space this way, but it wasn't a big deal. You can erase whatever you want to and reload.
