After reading everything I could find on this topic, and not coming across anything that has worked, I have decided to ask the question myself. I have been using an HP laptop with a TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6252 DVD+R/CD-RW burner for about a year now. Until recently, I have had no trouble burning DVD's or CD's that I have created using Nero 6.6.0.16. However, now when I attempt to burn DVD+R's, the process fails at the very end (around 99 or 100%). The DVD is burnt, as I can see when I take it out, however when placed back in my DVD drive Windows thinks it is a blank disc. The discs also will not play in any other devices (dvd players). Below I have attached an error report from Nero. But first, it should be noted that I have already tried the following actions:
1) Reinstalled the drivers for the IDE ports
2) Enabled DMA (which was enabled to begin with)
3) TRIED DIFFERENT DVD+R MEDIA BRANDS!!!!!! (this I can not emphasize enough, I am sick and tired of seeing replys about cheap media) (ps. the dvd+r I used in the following report was imation, however I most frequently use memorex among other media)
4) Reinstalled NERO
5) Attempted to update the firmware, but already have the most current firmware installed
Anyone that could provide some insight on this would be greatly appreciated! Here is the NERO log of the failed burn:
