flashing is easy as long as youknow the make and model of your motherboard.to flash you have to make a boot disk from your comp on a floppy, then you drag and drop the flash bios on the floppy you just made a boot disk on[make sure you have the right size bios or it will kill you pc]then keep the floppy in the a drive restart and follow the instructions and the floopy does the work.pretty easy huh? but i hear there is some different ones then i just explain, the flashes im talking about r:awdflash, bflash these two are easy, hope this help.the bios adds updated info to the comp so it boots and runs right.id try to reinstall windows first, first fdisk then format and recover it the pc to its original state like when you bought it

Some of the newer mother boards like asus and epox have windows based utility specific to that board that cheak for the latest update and ask if you want to flash it. Just make sure if possible to save the old bios to disk in case the new one is buggy. Sometimes new is not always a good idea.
