I am having problems with car cd players not reading cdr disks. I was wondering if changing from mp3 files to wav files would help resolve this? The disks play well in home stereos, and newer car cd players. What can I try to resolve this?

will not matter whether you convert the mp3 file to wave or not. Older car stereo's will not read cdr's or cdrw's.

dbecker,

Where did that come from? Most car audio player do play CD-R's fine. But most players CAN'T handle MP3s (there are some though that can), so burn your disc as regular audio.

If you car player has problems with cd-r's, then all yuo can try is good media and/or low write speed. If it doesn't help, then nothing does.

You will find some car stereo's and home cd players, not able to play cd-r's. cd-r's burnt are different than store bought audio cd's. Some makers did not account for this when they 1st starting making cd players. You will be surprised how many cd players did not play cdr's when cd players 1st came out. I have a single disk cd player I bought years ago that will not play cd-r's (cd burners weren't around when i bought it)...

dbecker,

Well, that depends on the players, of course. I've been burning some 6 years now and all car players have player CD-R fine. My old 5-disc Sony used to have problems with low quality media, and some mini-stereo sets had problems with low Q media as well.

But the situation here (Finland) is that over 95% of players cope with CD-R just fine (rough guess). Currently I don't know a single player with problems (friends, family, etc).

Well you have a problem that can be solved very easy , you have a older car stereo & you must burn the cd on x2 speed max & this will solve youre problem, use nero but do not use easy cd creator deluxe version.

sincerely yours: RFM
