I've always had pirated nero, but now I feel like actually buying it. I have a question about it though. If I buy it, will I get free updates for life? Or how does that work out? Thanks.

I HIGHLY recommend you use Nero's General Clean tool BEFORE you install the Paid for version! Uninstall your previous version, re-start your PC, use the Clean Tool for Nero, Re-Start again then you should be fine. The Clean tool is FREE at Nero's site, in downloads.

@creaky,
Just out of curiosity here - so buddy, do you know if we'll be able to update/upgrade from Nero 6 to Nero 7 for free (let say that I have a legit Nero 6 Ultra Edition with the serial)?

@alkohol - apparently if it's been recently been purchased you get 7 for free. there's something in one of the links i posted in this other thread - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/233440 edit- here ya go Quote: Nero 7 will be available for purchase on approximately October 10th. It will be available at retail stores and of course through the Nero webshop in the second week of October. No details on price or any new features to Nero have yet been disclosed. Those users who have purchased a copy of Nero 6 from Sept 1st until November 30th 2005 will be eligible for a free upgrade to Nero 7.
To take advantage of the upgrade those users will have to register their current serial number on the Nero website to receive information and instructions on getting the upgrade. This registration will have to take place before December 31st 2005. Customers who purchased their full version of Nero 6 before September 1st 2005 will be eligible for a discount offer for a Nero 7 purchase.
As well as with past versions of Nero, further updates after Nero 7's initial release will remain free of charge top those who purchased Nero 7. Nero 6 updates will continue for the next few months but demo versions of Nero 6 will not be provided.

@creaky,
Thanks a lot buddy. I guess I missed that page and or thread. Unfortunately, I have had Nero 6 for quite a long time now, so I'll probably end up getting 7 when it's available due to the fact that I love to do all of my dvd movies and audio cds burning with Nero.

I am SURE that Best Buy or Circuit City will run a Sale on Nero 7 when it comes out. And like Nero 6 Ultra, Nero will offer a Rebate if you have purchased a Previous version. I'll buy Nero 7 for sure, but will wait for a Sale. I feel sure other Members here will agree on this one. Aword of advice to anyone, Pay for what you get, it works out much better for you in the end.
