I think you need Alcohol for mdf files

MDS is what you get with DVD Decrypter...it's like a cue file....
think of it like this....
MDS is to ISO
as
Cue is to Bin
but yeah... zyw is right mdF is an Alcohol image file....

If you download DVD Decryptor you can burn those files.
When you open up Decyptor go to:
Mode then ISO then click on write.
Make sure both MDF and MDS files are in the same folder
then in the Source option where it says please select file click on the folder and click on the MDS file that will load up the MDF file to be burnt in decryptor.
After you choose the MDS file and have a blank DVD in then click on the CD ICON at the bottem of the program and it will burn.

Its actully
Cue is to bin
as
MDS is to MDF
MDS is just a cue file.
When I first cane across this i just burned the MDF file in DVD Decryptor but it didnt work so I then went back and choose the MDS file and it then burrned right and worked. So I always choose the MDS(CUE) file and burn in Decryptor.

I did not know that. mdf aren't listed in decrypter's file registry, it wouldn't recognize it without the mds. And mdf is listed for Alcohol.

DVD Decrypter wont burn just the MDF file. But if you unzipped a downloaded game and gave you an MDS and MDF file you can load the MDS file into DVD Decryptor and it WILL BURN. The MDS file is like a cue file and is getting the information off the MDF file.

ok I think I see what you're saying larrylje..if the mdf is in the same download with the mds...it is burnable with DVD Decrypter..and if not use alcohol...
most downloads I've ran across were usually... mdf and ISO for DVD Games
and Cue and Bin for PS2 Blue CDs or PSX games....

@luckgh0st
I have never come across a download game with MDF and a ISO file. Them are 2 diffrent types of image files. Which would mean if you had both in it the file would be twice the size it needed to be.
I have always either got a:
1. ISO
2. MDS and MDF
3. Cue and bin
But anyway when I loaded up the MDF file in decryptor it loaded it and burned it but didnt work when I inserted it in my PS2 but when I used the MDS file that came with the download it burned correctly.

Well, I should have specified, I'm using Bit Torrent, and usually get a whole bunch of files that look like WinRAR icons, then Extract than get ISO and alot of times an .mds , but I did notice that, on some of them they just give you the ISO and it burns fine with DVD Decrypter.
I remember backing up a PS2 DVD with the Decrypter and it would always give me an ISO and an .mds file, ( I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 2.. if that matters)
and you should check out this link http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=.mds I think we're both right...

hi guys followed your instructions about using the MDS file in DVD Decrypter - but when I try to load in the MDS file - I get a warning message saying invalid or unsupported file image - reason only single track images are supported,
I am trying to burn virtua tennis 2. I have tried to burnusing Alchol 120 and it appears to burn ok but wont play on PS2.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WHAT I am doing wrong. when using alchol I am burning at about 16x but it wont let me burn any slower.
thanks

woah, sorry that was the wrong question. is there an mds file that came with it? there has to be.
about the size, what platform is the game for, and what size is the mds, if there is one. also, what discs are u using?
if the game is for the computer, did u try playing off a mounted image before burning to see if that works?

I just mounted the MDF file with PowerISO and was able to install my game from there easily.
