I have a Sony dvd-rw DW-Q28A drive. For the past week or two my dvd drive won't play dvd movies (real ones, not burned movies) unless I play it right after the computer starts up. When I use dvd shrink, it will get 3/4ths of the way encoding the movie and say it encountered an error. Or sometimes it won't recognize a dvd in the drive. When the movie does burn all the way through, dvd decrypter burns only at 1.5x and comes back with an error of invalid address for write at 90% of the way through. I haven't done anything to the computer. This is my second dvd drive in 3 months. I do have windows service pack 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm at my wit's end.
I have a AMD XP 2200+
1.8 ghz, 512 MB RAM
