Hi

Is there any software available that will rip and split an image file into tracks, directly from the image rather than burning it to CD first?

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Its not really that simple. But yea its possible. All you need is an app called Daemon Tools. With this app installed you can create virtual optical drives (VOD)! All you need to do is mount the image to the VOD. After the image is mounted you just use it like thier was a CD/DVD in a real CD/DVD-Rom drive. Thats right you can use any ripping software to rip the tracks.

Or you could pay for Alcohol 120%

I'm sure that I heard of a piece of software that uses the 'cue' file to rip the 'bin' file into tracks directly from the source.

I've never heard of one. Like diabolos said, your best bet is to mount the image with Daemon Tools, which is a very painless process, then rip the virtual drive with EAC (exact audio copy)

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Well you could do that with ISOBuster but it will rip the tracks to wave files or as RAW data.
