I am on a Apple Dual 2ghz. I have an internal dvd burner, Pioneer DV-R 106D, which is connected via ATA, and I also have an Sony DRX-710UL external burner, that is connected via usb2. I have found that the Sony, which is suppose to be faster, actually transfers data more slowly. On the internal Pioneer, it took about 5min to transfer 666mb, on the Sony, it took 8min. It also has a firewire 800 connection. Do you think that would be any faster?
