I'm trying to figure out how to copy an already copied DVD+R movie. I use 1 click DVD and DVD for free encoder to copy normal DVD's. I was told Nero would work just fine but it gets about half way through and gives me an error. Any ideas??

Thanks, Josh

Here are 2 ways of doing that using Nero or DVD Decrypter:

Nero: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45497

DVD Decrypter: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48358

(Note: Making a copy of a copy is almost impossible if the original copy was burnt to cheap, low quality media.)

Re-Ripping backups:

That is the true test of the quality on your backups.

If that copy/ies you are trying to rip was on poor quality media/burned too fast/or even a low quality burner, re-ripping will be the ultimate challenge.

All burned discs are prone to errors. Those 3 things I just listed are just a few of the major contributors to errors.Too many errors,or errors in the wrong spots and whala, crc errors. You have to keep those errors down on your first original backup copy.

You'll need DVD Decrypter if you haven't got it already. It's free, and a more powerful ripper to help get through some of those errors.

Open up dvd decrypter
Insert backup to be ripped
Click Mode- ISO read
Click the lower burn/hd icon and files are going to Hard drive.
After encoding to HD,kick out that disc and insert blank/quality disc
Click Mode- ISO write
Click the small folder/Locate that MDS file you want to burn/open.
Click burn/HD icon and all is started.

and my simple way (as others have said, you may have limited success if original copy is on poor media or has CRC errors ie corruption), well it's the way i do ALL my re-copies, is to copy/paste the video_ts folder in windows explorer, then reburn to disc using burning program of choice
