Yea mate hundreds if not thousands of psp?s have dead pixels. Most of them are invisible during game play however some are close together and more visible.
Do what I did and return you psp.

i heard that it is possible that dead pixels could increase in numbers.
That is why i want to point it out to SONY that it is actually manufactoring issue and we should get a replacement for it.
What do you guys think ?

its not pictures you put on your psp to fix the pixels its a movie with flashing colours. it can take up to a day before you have any results and 70% of the time it wont change the screen.

I don't want to come across as a 'Know-it-all' but, chances are your refering to the White-ish Pixels that show up on a dark (i.e. Black Screen), Those are NOT Dead Pixels, the're just stuck Pixels. A Dead Pixel whuld be Black on a White Background (i.e. the Pixel does not light up),.
I had a PSP with no fewer then 4 or 5 of these 'Stuck Pixels', I decided to send it back to the Shop. It then took them like Four Weeks to get me a replacement. Now my new PSP has One Stuck Pixel oddly enough in the same place Mid-Screen Left-most Third, and like the last One it's One of those 'Rainbow' Pixels that change from White to Red to Green depending on from which angel you are looking at it from. I would have though that the Pixel Claener Movie(s) would have been able to remove it. Alas after a whole Night of letting it sit there and runing that movie over and over again. That Pixel is still there.
Thankfully it's not as visable when playing Games.

Hi... I have tried 20+ PSP´s now.. and they all have dead/stuck pixels... and Im kinda sad... non of my other Sony products have ever had errors... always work with perfection. But now this... I have not been able to find a single one without an error. Also heard a rumor, that the PSP sold in Europe has a crappier screen, then the Japan ones... (can anyone confirm?)
Anyways... if any Sony sales-people are looking in this forum, and have a PSP without bad pixels.. feel free to send me a mail... I would so much like to buy one :)
Cheers!

its for fixing stuck NOT dead pixles, start the video and set it on repeat, leave it going for 5+ hours, i suggest you start it when you go to bed and check that it worked when you wake up.
it has a 60% chance of fixing the stuck pixles.

Just bought my 2nd psp, hoping that this one would have no dead pixels. Unfortunately it does have a few dead ones, not as many as the other though. As the PSP manual says, it is common with LCD monitors. The stuck pixels are fixable by hand, but unfortunately you need to take it apart, breaking Sony's warranty. I tried running this video on my old psp for 10 hours ,didnt help any. I will try it on my new one and hope it does something.

i dont really have this problem with mine caus i dont play it more than 45min to an hour long each time. i think its just a matter of how long you play it for and leave it on the same screen. im probly gonna end up selling mine anyways so i can save up for ps3 or 360

Guys, dead pixles are pixles which do not light up, they are permanently black and CANNOT be fixed, stuck pixles are what is common on the psp.
they are the pixles which are stuck on red, green, blue or white. they can be fixed by a opening you psp and doing somthing (i dont know what) or they MAY be fixed by running that video for a long time.
hope this helps,

You will always have problems with sony products. When i got my PSP it had no dead or stuck pixel. 2days later the movies are blurly and 5 white pixel. My cousion has PS2 and he had to replace his laser. I had ps1 and it just won't start. That's why i'm getting 360 then ps3. oh and there cell phones sucks to. Get samsung.

This is what i get from SONY .....
"The PSP (PlayStation Portable) is a high quality consumer product that has sold over 5 million units worldwide. The manufacturing standards for PSP are very high and the consequent defect rate is incredibly small. However, as with all products, the occasional imperfection can occur. One of these occasionally identified by consumers with the PSP is what has become known as 'dead' pixels.
In normal use, any slight imperfection in a single pixel is virtually unidentifiable and does not cause a problem. However, we recognise that on the rare occasion where more than one imperfect pixel occurs adjacent to another, or where a number of imperfect pixels are visible, the consumer's experience of the screen can be adversely affected.
Sony Computer Entertainment is committed to providing the highest quality products and if a consumer experiences imperfect pixels we will gladly take the product back and replace, repair it or refund the customer under warranty."
You guys should be able to get a replacement.

You probably do mgamez, and you're just in denial lol. I have to believe that what most people are complaining about are stuck pixels, not dead ones.
My friends call me Spike.
Whatever happens, happens.

I do believe dvdsndict is right, a dead one is black on white(ish) background, a stuck one is everything else.
I think Sony´s quality control is laging a bit...
BTW.. Still looking for a PSP with no pixel error :-)
One day I will find one, it has become the quest of my life... muhahaha... aaaargh
