Hello,
maybe somebody can help me with the following problems i have:

1) Is it possible to add a "DVD change animation" at the end of a dvd (like with Starship Troopers flipper)? I dont want to reencode the whole film or something. I simply want the movie-files (i.e. VTS_01_x.xxx) and the animation (i.e. VTS_02_x.xx) on the first disc. The animation (ripped from the Starship-Troopers-DVD... vts_06_1.vob) should play right after the first part of the main movie. I tried it with ifoedit... without success. For unknown reason the main movie plays again but without speech instead of the animation.

2) Next prob: Forced subtitles. Let's take "Mummy returns". I only want to copy the main movie and the german-forced-subs. First question: How i detect the correct sub? I don't want the standard-sub... only the subs, which are played when the guys speek the ancient language... uhm, you know what i mean?! Second question: I use ifoedit to remove everything, except the german audio and forced-subtitle, right? Will the forced sub play auto. or do i have to edit something in the ifo's to tell the movie, that it have to play the german forced subs?

3) Last question: When i split a movie to 2 DVD-Rs and play the movie on my stand-alone player... it displays everytime the wrong chapter-"amount". Lets take TITUS_PAL: The movie displays 32 chapters, but on disc 1 there are only 18. The first discs ends with a disc-error, 'cause the 19th chapter isn't there, but the player tries to play it. I tried to edit the VIDEO_TS.IFO with ifoedit to correct the chapter-numbers... but my stand-alone player didn't takes notice of this... 32 chapters at all.

Sorry for my bad english... hope somebody understands my problems and can help me out with this. I searched the whole internet, but no one else seems to have the same probs.

Thanks for any idea :)

I use DVDMaestro for every authoring aspect, so I cannot help you with ifoedit.

Anyway, with Maestro you have the possibility to create "scripts" that should address your animation problem. You do not have to reencode the whole film, because the animation would be a movie on its own. The only thing you need is to produce a Maestro project and recompile everything once the script for the ending animation is done (15-20 minutes).

For the forced subtitles I use this method: Subrip can detect also the forced subtitles, so you can extract them and then put them in Maestro. Once there you can simply create a script that before playing the movie sets the forced subs on.

I made a backup of the Mummy - The Return and it worked perfectly.
I suggest you to have a look at Mestro, just for the sake of general knowledge... :)

I add animation to end of dvd by using vobedit to join the animation to the end of the movie. A guide can be found here:
http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html

I recently backed up a dvd (A Bridge Too Far) with forced subtitles and kept only the movie, dolby, and forced subtitles, then used DVD2ONE on it and burned and the forced subtitles play automatically as you would expect.

I'm not sure on your last question, but I hope the above answers help.
