Let me see here...millions of file sharers and ony 1500 [edit] 15000 sued thus far. you make of that what you like. i think its minute, but it is enough to scare enough off.

want to avoid getting caught?

here are some tips

get peerguardianII

(AD link)http://www.afterdawn.com/software/p2p_software/p2p_tools/peerguar...

don't download excessively - only download stuff that you cant get elsewhere

only download legal (uncopyrighted material;)

and if you do dload copyright material ;););), then keep your shared folder clear of them.

if you cant tell the difference between a copyrighted file and a non-copyrighted file, here's a tip-

if it's by a person you have heard of commercially, have seen it on televison or on the radio or any advertising source - its likely to be copyrighted and ILLEGAL.

if it is none of these things i.e a radio rip/bootleg, then you are ok (bootlegging and radio ripping is illegal, but to the people who do it, not you :)

basically just use your common sense and you should be fine!

sniper,

The numbers are like so, 55 million users of Limewire, (not including the millions that are using ed2k, shareaza, winmx, etc) 17,000 sued. Still....follow what lethal said, pg2 is a nice little prog.

All good advice, just remember that if you do wrong with P2P or any other program, chances are you can get caught. PGII is a great program, again in agreeance with everyone here but NOTHING is 100%. Don't download illegally if you can't pay the Piper if you're caught.
