I build a computer every now and then for friends who want something better than the local "insert big name here" store for about the same price. Nothing fancy, only have used Intel because thats all I've needed so far, no extreme gaming (yet), OC'ng, so not argueing Intel vs. AMD just wondering this. When should I start going away from AGP and start towards pci-e? I mean yes, If I want something better than what I've needed to make so far, I know it will take that extra step. But say when will support and new products stop? Should I still use these mobo's when there is a shift in the other direction?

well the newest nVidia card is PCI-E only.

But if your not building pcs for gaming I don't think it will matter ... it just a question if AGP cards will still be availabe. And I'm sure they will.

But if they want to upgrade to be able to game and use the newest cards then ya you'll have to go to PCI-E
