this is not really a Nero question but I need help. I know how to convert DVDs and Avi's and Divx's to Mpeg but the problem i have is i want to put a few VCDs onto one DVD disk. The programs i have only allow VCDs to be burnt on Cd-r's and DVDs onto Dvd-disks. I tried converting all the avis to mpeg format and burn them in Nero but i can only burn it as a Data disk which did not work in my DVD player...

If they are standard (S)VCD then you can put a bunch on one DVD pretty easilly with SVCD2DVD 2.0. It's about $20 and requires .NET 1.1 framework. I've been using it for about a week and I like it ok. It has a nice Menu Edit function that creates a simple menu with a text or image button for each title and an optional "Play All" button.

Basically it's a control GUI for freeware apps and it resamples the mpg audio to 48000 to make the mpg files DVD compliant, and then authors the DVD.

What kind of files are you REALLY talking about, .dat or .avi?

Provided your standalone dvd player can play VCD, you can turn the avis into vcds with e.g. Nero Vision Express. Or you may convert the avis into VCD compliant format with e.g. WinAvi, then burn with Nero.

If you already have VCDs or VCD compliant mpgs that look acceptable then you can make an "espisodic DVD" using the software in my post above. But if you have .AVI files you are starting with you might end up losing video quality if you try to convert at nearly the same bitrate. DivX and XviD typically have more video info than mpg at the same bitrate(that's why when you convert to DVD an 800 MB .AVI often comes out being a gig and a half.)

So experiment with some CDRW and DVD+RW and see where the best compression/quality compromise is.

Converting from mpeg to dvd should be easy and trouble-free in most cases. You may try use a different program first (e.g. VSO DivXtoDVD-free version) to see if things are better. If not, post again:

Good luck!
