Is there a way to use ratdvd to convert dvds with pcm or ac3 5.1 audio to ac3 2 or ac3-vs without the long encodeing time? I have seen several guides to convert the audio, but I have a dvd with pcm in the menu and I would like to convert that audio to ac3 without having to reauthor the entire thing.

There is also ac3 5.1 in the extras that I would like to convert to ac3 vs. Is this standard dvd (ac3 vs) compliant? Is there an advanaced setting in ratdvd to encode the audio and leave the video in the orginal form?

Yes, it is standard DVD compliant and no, there's no way to convert only the audio.
