I have my dvd writer installed on a xp system. When I first installed it about a year ago everything worked fine. I used both of the dvd+r and dvd+rw discs that came with the device and they wrote perfectly. I also watched a dvd movie with the drive and that worked fine. Now I havent used the drive since just because I also have a cd/rw drive and didnt need to burn anything that was big enough to go on a dvd. Well this week i decided to burn a movie and to my suprise it would not recognise the media. The media im trying to use is ESA dvd+RW 8x. After that failed I then tried to play one of my DVD movies in the drive and it failed to recognise that as well. So I then put in a regular software CD and it recognised that instantly. Also when I would put the DVDs in the drive and closed it it would make 4 or 5 little thumping sounds like it was trying to read but then the light would go off and the computer would act like the drive was empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
